Membrane filters replaced secondary clarification in the conventional activated sludge flow scheme. They allow bioreactors to operte at hgh MLSS concentrations and eliminate concerns of inadequate gravity settling.

External Is Better.

External membranes offer easier access for maintenance and repair. Unlike immersed hollow fiber membranes, the external tubular membranes are more rugged and do not require specialized hoists, dip tanks, backwash systems and air scouring equipment.

Operator Safety.

Mounted at ground level, operators can maintain these systems without lifting the membrane or suspending themselves over an open tank. Confined space entry concerns are also eliminated.
