The Key To MBR System
Self Cleaning.
Turbulence and velocity keep the membrane surface clean with a self scouring action. Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids (MLSS) from the bioreactors circulate continuously inside the tubes. Membranes prevent particulates from passing through (with a 0.03 micron cutoff). Turbulent flow carries the contaminants back to the bioreactor. In Our Systems, turbulence is generated by passing mixed liquor across the membrane at high velocity. Our Systems achieve turbulence by using a combination of mixed liquor and air. A clean-in-place system is periodically used to chemically clean membrane surfaces.
Permeate.
Treatment water passes continuously across the full length of the membrane. Since the filter physically blocks the contaminants, permeate passes through while the bacteria and organic molecules are retained.
Highly-Concentrated Biomass. As the concentrate exits the filters, it returns to the bioreactor tanks higher in solids. The returning concentrate reprocess solids with further bacterial action.
High Quality Effluent.
The clear water permeate has no suspended solids. The effluent is discharged or forwarded to additional treatment for reuse.
